WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin this week ushered in a new era for the Chase Technology College with the opening of a new humanities teaching block.

The £1million development adds seven new classrooms and extra office space, replacing old temporary classrooms.

The development was completed in the summer and was formally opened by Harriett at a ceremony today (Wednesday,October 8).

The MP toured the new building as well as meeting with staff, pupils and school governors.

Harriett commented: "I was delighted to be invited to formally open this new classroom block.

"There is a lot of emphasis on the teaching of science subjects at the moment and with so many technology companies based in the area it is clear that this is an important task.

"But as a humanities graduate myself, I am delighted to see the other subjects also benefitting from investment and I was eager to thank all those who have worked so hard to bring this new block to fruition.

"The school saw some excellent exam results this summer and I hope that this will continue to be the case as more pupils get to study in shiny, new classrooms with the latest technology."
