MP Welcomes April Tax Cut

The personal allowance increase to £10,000, which comes into force on April 6, will mean that more than 40,000 West Worcestershire constituents will have a little extra in their pay packet.

The allowance increase also means that more than 5,000 local people will no longer pay any income tax at all on their earnings.

Harriett commented: "Because of tax cuts since 2010 the typical taxpayer is now paying £705 less in income tax a year than they were under the previous government. There's more good news next year when the personal allowance increased even further, to £10,500.

"This tax cut is great news for local people and will mean that hard-working people get to keep more of their money, giving them, and their families, more financial security for the future. "
