West Worcestershire Conservative Association have launched a new scheme aimed at local students, with the aim to act as a middle man between students and small businesses in Malvern.
The scheme was launched at a careers fayre at a local school, with a key feature being that students must show the initiative to email their CV to the Conservative team in order to have a local placement found for them.
The idea to set up the scheme was prompted by conversations with local students, who said that it was difficult to find work experience in the sector they were interested in with smaller businesses especially within the local area.
It will also offer an opportunity for local employers to find the workforce of the future, without the need to search for it themselves.
To take part in the scheme, send an email to [email protected] with the sector you are interested in and your CV.
Sebastian Barbour, Deputy Chairman (Political) of West Worcestershire Conservative Association, said:
“We hope that this scheme will be an important asset to local students, helping them build their CVs and experience when preparing to apply for Higher Education or careers with local employers.
Taking on work experience students can be a big task for smaller businesses, and we hope that we can fulfil some of the bureaucracy attached with the process at a time when small businesses need as much help as possible
We encourage all businesses to get in touch if they are interested in registering with the scheme and being matched with local students.”
