WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin has welcomed news that more county schools have been rated good or outstanding schools after Ofsted released its latest annual report.
Ninety four per cent of Worcestershire pupils attend a good or outstanding primary or secondary school – up four per cent from 2015.
And the MP praised the efforts of local teachers who help to offer pupils the best possible start preparing them for the world of work despite suffering from traditionally smaller funding.
Harriett commented: “It is great that more schools than ever have been rated good or outstanding and that is testament to the hard work of local teachers.
“Securing a fairer funding deal for our Worcestershire schools is my top priority and together with my county MP colleagues we continue to press at all levels for a better package.
“I am always impressed by the way our local schools have been able to get great results from their tight budgets and hope that they will be able to do even better once the new funding deal is confirmed.”
