WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin has congratulated Malvern business superstar Txtlocal which has been bought by a major mobile communications company.
IMImobile has bought the Malvern-based company, which was founded by local entrepreneur Alastair Shortland in 2005. Txtlocal is based at Malvern Hills Science Park and has a second office in the North-West.
The company provides SMS and other mobile marketing products to a wide range of global brands such as John Lewis and Papa John’s and even runs a text message service for the House of Commons.
The company has been winning a host of awards and has been marked out as a rising star by business experts.
Harriett commented: “This is fabulous news for Alastair and the team and this deal is clearly a great reward for the enormous amount of hard-work put in to develop a successful business.
“I am told that the company intends to keep its operations running as usual in Malvern and I hope that we will see further expansion here in due course.
“This deal is yet more evidence of the brilliant brains of Malvern making waves on the global stage.
“Malvern Hills Science Park is home to an impressive array of fast-growing businesses and it is developing an incubator service to hot-house new start-ups.”
