WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin hopped on her bike this week to show support for the superstar cyclists who will race through the county on Wednesday (September 10).

The MP cycled to work in Westminster to mark the arrival of the Tour of Britain in the county.

The prestigious race will spend the much of the time in Harriett’s West Worcestershire constituency passing over the Malvern Hills before travelling though Upton-upon-Severn and Pershore and then on to Evesham and Broadway.

Hundreds of world-famous cyclists will arrive in Worcester on Tuesday night with all eyes on the sporting superstars including Mark Cavendish and Sir Bradley Wiggins.

Harriett commented: “Unfortunately, I will be in Westminster when the Tour travels through Worcestershire and will miss out on seeing the spectacle.

“I couldn’t be further towards the other end of the cycling spectrum myself, but I cycle to work in Westminster quite often and I wanted to mark the arrival of the tour in the county by hopping on my bike and showing support for the race.

“Worcestershire is a wonderful place for taking part in this increasingly popular sport and it’s also a low-cost, healthy and zero-carbon way of commuting to work.”
