WEST WORCESTERSHIRE MP Harriett Baldwin has given the ‘thumbs up’ for local traders during a tour of the town to promote Small Business Saturday.
The MP shopped at a handful of stores including a fishmonger and bakery to help to promote the national initiative to encourage people to use their small local stores more often.
Harriett offered her support to the national initiative and the work of the Federation of Small Business to raise the profile of small traders across the county.
She made visits to Swifts bakers and The Little Fish Shop as well as doing some Christmas shopping in the town.
Harriett said: “Small Business Saturday is a great initiative and I am keen to offer my support to anything which helps to encourage more people to shop locally.
“It was useful to talk to business owners today and tell them about some of the important measures the Government has introduced to help them succeed.
“Small businesses have been able to benefit from a number of important Government measures including reductions in national insurance payments, cutting corporation tax and helping more than 385,000 firms across the UK with rate relief.
“We're backing small businesses to create jobs and financial security for families."
